Let’s Get Started

Choose between gravel or sand and be sure both are made for aquariums. Sand is gentler on fish that search in the substrate for food. Sand more closely resembles their natural habitat.

Don’t overcrowd your aquarium with decorations! Be creative and choose something that will match your style!

First things First, place your aquarium and stand where you want it to be and make sure it is level. Keep in mind, it could crack if not level or you try to move it when it’s full. Attach the hood at this time if necessary.
Add the gravel or sand at this time

Place live or artificial plants and other decor gently in the sand and make sure it is anchored down under the gravel or sand.

Add the filter (talk to your local pet store to find the best fit for you and your fish).
Attach the heater to the aquarium and set it between 74 and 84 degrees.
Attach the aquarium thermometer to the inside or outside of your aquarium depending on the requirement.

Gently add water to the aquarium!
Turn on the filter and ensure that it is working properly.

Remove chlorine by adding a water conditioner. (DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP)
Wait 24 hrs before adding your fish (It might be a good idea to test your water prior to adding your fish)!
